- ABSTRACT Despite the fact psychology can make significant contributions to rural development processes and initiatives that involve peasant communities, this set problems is still insufficiently explored. Striving to contribute to its development, this paper presents the results of a diagnosis made on rural extension practices in Paraguay in the Department of Caazapá, which was financed by the Spanish International Cooperation. Based on social constructionism, the actor-oriented approach and the notion of interface, the point of view of peasants, rural extensionists and authorities and experts on the topic in question is described. Finally, I present a set of proposals based on the results of the research, exemplify exemplifying thus one of the possible roles of community psychologist in the field of rural development.
RESUMEN
Si bien la psicología puede realizar aportes significativos a los
procesos e iniciativas de desarrollo rural que involucran a población campesina, este campo de problemas se encuentra aún insuficientemente explorado. Buscando contribuir a su
desarrollo, en el presente trabajo se exponen los resultados de un diagnóstico realizado en Paraguay sobre las prácticas de
extensión rural en el Departamento de Caazapá, el cual ha sido
financiado por la cooperación internacional española. Partiendo del construccionismo social, el abordaje orientado al actor y la
noción de interfase se reconstruye la visión de campesinos, extensionistas rurales y
autoridades y especialistas sobre la temática en cuestión. Finalmente, se desarrollan una serie de propuestas fundadas en
los resultados del diagnóstico realizado, ejemplificándose de esta forma uno de los posibles roles del psicólogo social
comunitario en el ámbito del desarrollo rural.
