Problemáticas de salud mental en la infancia : un estudio epidemiológico. = Problematic of mental health in the infancy : an epidemiological study.

RESUMEN


Se presentan resultados obtenidos en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires en el marco del proyecto: 'Problemáticas de Salud Mental en la Infancia' realizado por siete unidades académicas de psicología del país con auspicio del Ministerio de Salud de la Nación. El objetivo del estudio ha sido estimar la prevalencia de trastornos psicológicos en niños/as de 6-12 años y analizar el comportamiento de factores sociodemográficos asociados a dichos eventos y de los sucesos de vida más significativos acaecidos en los 6 meses anteriores a la encuesta. Los instrumentos de recolección de datos son: el Child Behaviour Checklist de Achenbach, una encuesta sociodemográfica y el Inventario de Sucesos de Vida, administrados a los adultos responsables del cuidado de los niños. En relación a las evidencias que pueden extraerse del estudio queda claramente de manifiesto el peso que adquieren los determinantes sociales como factores asociados con problemas comportamentales de los niños, pues se encontraron relaciones estadísticamente significativas entre variables tales como el nivel socioeconómico, el nivel de instrucción de ambos progenitores, el nivel de hacinamiento, la repitencia escolar y el tipo de grupo familiar. Se informan, asimismo, los sucesos vitales que muestran una mayor prevalencia en la población comprendida en el estudio.

ABSTRACT


They present results obtained in Buenos Aires City in the frame of the project 'Problematic of Mental Health in the Infancy', realized by seven academic units of psychology of the country with patronage of the Department of Health of the Nation. The aim of the study has been to estimate the pre-eminence of psychological disorders in 6-12-year-old children and to analyze the behaviour of factors sociodemografic associated with the above mentioned events and of the more significant events of life happened in 6 months previous to the survey. The instruments of compilation of information are: the Child Behaviour Checklist de Achenbach, a survey sociodemografic and the Inventory of Vida’s Events, administered to the adults responsible for the care of the children. In relation to the evidences that can be extracted from the study there stays of manifest the weight the social determiners acquire as factors associated with problems of the behaviour of the children, since they found statistically significant relations between such variables as the socioeconomic level, the level of instruction of both progenitors, the type of familiar group, among others. Are informed, likewise, the vital events that prove to be a major pre-eminence in the population comprised in the study.
