¿Qué es ser adulto hoy? : propuestas de categorías de análisis. = What is it to be an adult today? : offers of categories of analysis.

Preguntarnos que es ser adulto en el contexto de la sociedad
actual es un interrogante disparador de las concepciones que
tienen al respecto nuestros estudiantes universitarios adultos.
Las respuestas obtenidas fueron a su vez motivo de reflexión
para nuestro equipo. Encontramos que los saberes psicológicos tradicionales nos son insuficientes para comprender esta compleja realidad. Por esta razón consideramos conveniente apelar a categorías usualmente utilizadas por historiadores y sociólogos para introducir nuevos elementos de análisis de la
adultez: el concepto de representación social, el concepto de
generación y las categorías de “espacio de experiencia” y “horizonte de expectativa”.

To ask ourselves what is an adult in the context of the current
society is a start question about the conceptions that we have
regarding our adult university students. The obtained answers
were in turn a motive of reflection for our team. We find that the
traditional psychological knowledge is insufficient to understand
this complex reality. For that reason we consider it suitable to
appeal to categories usually used by historians and sociologists
to introduce new elements of analysis of adulthood: the concept of social representation, the concept of generation and the categories of “ space of experience “ and “ horizon of expectation“.
